One of the final games of the 33rd round of the Bundesliga will be played at the Allianz Arena in Munich as Bayern play against Stuttgart. The home side have already secured the title, while the visitors are still struggling to survive. Logically, it’s the latter that are the more motivated!
In the round before last, Bayern guaranteed themselves the league title when they beat Borussia Dortmund 3-1. But the Rathen went into last week’s game with a relaxed mindset. They paid the price in the end with a 3-1 defeat. It had no impact on the league position, but their streak of nine games without a “Luz” was interrupted. Besides, the players themselves got a huge dose of criticism. I’m sure that next weekend they’ll try to rehabilitate themselves with a big win. The opponents are suitable for that.
Julian Nagelsmann’s charges are in many ways the best team in Germany. First of all, they scored the most goals and conceded the most – 93 and 33 respectively. In addition, the Rothenes are the best team in Germany at home: 13 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats.
Stuttgart still cannot get out of the relegation zone. After 32 rounds, they have 29 points on their books. Today, that was just enough to place Stuttgart in 16th position (the relegation zone).
In the last month, Pellegrino Matarazzo’s side have not produced a single win: 2 draws and 3 “loos”. There have been 2 goals scored and 6 conceded.
The Swabians are performing relatively well at home. But the away team is very weak: 1 win, as many as 7 draws and 8 “Loses”. 11 goals scored and 22 conceded. By the way, there is no team in the Bundesliga, which would score less than Stuttgart away. At the moment, the unbeaten away series already consists of 9 rounds.
Statistics of head-to-head encounters
In the first round, Stuttgart were unable to oppose Bayern at home. “The Star of the South soundly beat them 0-5.
Five previous head-to-head games between the teams, within the Bundesliga, ended in victories for the Munich side.
In the 2017/2018 season, also in May, when Bayern were already champions, the team lost 1-4 to Stuttgart. Interestingly, the Swabians were also struggling for survival at the time!
Prediction and bet on Bayern Stuttgart. Outcome with cf. 1,71
Bayern and Stuttgart are teams of different levels, and therefore it is especially not worth counting on feats on the part of the “autoworks”. Yes, the Munich side are already champions. A week ago, however, they lost to far from the strongest Mainz (3-1), and a second defeat in a row is simply unacceptable for them. I am confident that Nagelsmann’s charges will take to the pitch with the sole purpose – to rehabilitate themselves for the previous weekend.
My prediction. I’m betting that the home side will show some productive football. I expect them to hit an individual total of over 2.5.
